Cold surge #6 near the region would be presenting evident changes in the different meteorological variables over the country, namely: increase and persistence of mostly cloudy conditions for the Caribbean slope and the Northern Zone, accompanied by rain and heavy downpours at different times of the day, occasionally accelerated trade winds in mountainous areas, in the North Pacific and in lower parts of the Central Valley, in addition to lower maximum temperatures in the Caribbean regions and in parts adjacent to the mountains in the Pacific and Central Valley sectors.

Specifically, trade winds can be perceived as moderate to strong in the mentioned sectors, with occasional gusts between 35 - 65 km/h in lower parts and maximums between 75 - 100 km/h in the high parts and north of the North Pacific. As for the precipitation on the Caribbean slope of our country, these could be perceived as more intense between Friday and Saturday, and the period between Sunday and Monday. Regarding maximum temperatures for the Caribbean and Northern Zone regions, they will be lower during the period under consideration, with the probability of days where temperatures will be perceived as cold, especially in mountainous areas and in the Central Valley.

Forecast

Mornings: Mostly cloudy with moderate-heavy rains in the different regions of the Caribbean slope and the Northern Zone. Cloudiness over the highlands and presence of occasional rains and drizzles, in addition to sectors of the Central Valley.

Afternoons: Variable clouds over the Caribbean and the Northern Zone with occasional variable rain. Partial clouds over the mountains of the Central and South Pacific, with the possibility of isolated showers mainly in the southern sector.

Nights: Cloudy with moderate rains in the Caribbean and Northern Zone from Thursday to Monday. Coastal showers near the Golfo Dulce and Central Pacific from mid-period onwards.
