Weather Warning

Tropical Wave Entry # 11 on the afternoon of this day

June 23, 2020
02.40 p.m.

Discussion: At the beginning of this afternoon, tropical wave # 11 has entered the national territory; However, it moves immersed in dust from the Sahara which will cause an isolated behavior of rainfall.
Forecast: The transit of this wave will generate precipitations in the course of the afternoon and will extend to the hours of the night, mainly on the Pacific coast and the North Caribbean coast; with isolated showers with electrical storm with ranges between 30-40mm and maximums of up to 60mm in these places.

For its part, in the Central Valley and the North Zone the rains will be dispersed with intensity varying from weak to moderate and amounts between 5-10mm with maximums of 20mm during the afternoon and early evening, in addition to fog banks in the surroundings of the GAM at night.

Warning: Special attention in the regions of both the Central and South Pacific in the afternoon, and the North Caribbean at night.
Due to the above, the IMN recommends:

Caution in areas vulnerable to flooding due to sewerage saturation.
Take refuge in a safe place in case of listening to a thunderstorm or perceiving strong gusts of wind near storm clouds, as well as caution for possible falling tree branches, power lines, among others.
Attention on the main national highways, such as route 27 and route 32.
