Yesterday at the Philadelphia meteorological station (Carrillo, Guanacaste) the highest temperature at the national level so far in 2024 (41.0 °C) was recorded, exceeding by 0.2 °C that of April of last year in Sardinal of the same canton. The record for the highest temperature in this canton is 41.9 °C established in April 2020.

 

In the capital city, specifically in San Pedro de Montes de Oca, a very hot condition was also perceived: the thermometer marked a maximum of 31.0 °C, which exceeded that of 2023 and is the second highest on record for a month of March.
