Día ventoso en Costa Rica debido a frente frío #4

Diagnóstico: El frente frío #4 ha incursionado en Centroamérica, ubicándose sobre Honduras esta mañana. Debido a esto, la intensidad del viento en el país ha ido incrementándose desde la noche de ayer jueves, registrándose velocidades máximas entre 75-91km/h en el Pacífico Norte y 60-85km/h en el Valle Central hasta esta hora.

Pronóstico: Conforme el frente frío continúe avanzando hacia el sur de la región, se prevé que sus efectos sean más intensos. Se pronostican ráfagas de vientos muy fuertes (entre 60-90km/h) en el Valle Central e intensos (entre 90-110km/h) en cerca de la Cordillera de Guanacaste y en norte del Pacífico Norte.

A partir de esta noche, se esperan lluvias ocasionales y dispersas en las llanuras de la Zona Norte y el Caribe Norte, con montos entre 5-10mm y máximos de 20mm. Se pronostican que las precipitaciones continúen durante el fin de semana en estas regiones, siendo el domingo el día más lluvioso de estos días principalmente en el Caribe; no se descarta la posibilidad de lloviznas y lluvias débiles en el Valle Central para este día.

Por otro lado, habrá un descenso en las temperaturas (en comparación con los últimos días) en el Valle Central debido a la cercanía de la masa de aire frío asociado al frente frío y la intensidad del viento en la región

Debido a lo anterior, el IMN recomienda:

  • Extremar las precauciones por vientos fuertes y su posible afectación de techos, cableado eléctrico, rótulos, árboles; así como en las partes montañosas del país (parques nacionales, volcanes).
  • Precaución para las embarcaciones por mar picado y muy fuerte oleaje en el Pacífico Norte, Golfo de Nicoya, el Mar Caribe, así como a la navegación aérea por turbulencia sobre los sectores montañosos.
  • Evitar quemas de todo tipo ya que pueden salirse de control.
