Vientos fuertes persisten este viernes y fin de semana

Diagnóstico: Los altos valores de la presión atmosférica siguen aumentando este viernes sobre el Mar Caribe, lo cual mantiene los vientos alisios fuertes sobre el país, con mayor notoriedad en el Valle Central, el Pacífico Norte y las cordilleras, donde las ráfagas máximas han alcanzado entre 40-80 km/h. Consecuentemente, esta mañana se presentan lluvias débiles y lloviznas en el Caribe y montañas de la Zona Norte.

Pronóstico: hoy viernes continuarán las ráfagas fuertes entre 40-75 km/h en el Valle Central y las partes bajas de Guanacaste. En las zonas montañosas de dichas regiones pueden alcanzar entre 75-100 km/h. Se esperan valores mayores para este fin de semana, alcanzando hasta 115 km/h.

Respecto a las precipitaciones hoy viernes, se darán de forma intermitente en la Zona Norte y Caribe durante el periodo matutino y nocturno; acumulados entre 10-40 mm. Además, son posibles lloviznas en las montañas del Pacífico Norte, al este y norte del Valle Central, en sectores como Cartago y San José, con montos menores a 5 mm. En el resto del país se mantendrá estable y predominantemente seco este día.

Se anticipa que este fin de semana tanto el viento en el país como las lluvias en el Caribe persistan.

 

Debido a lo anterior, el IMN recomienda:

  • Extremar las precauciones por vientos fuertes y su posible afectación de techos, cableado eléctrico, rótulos, árboles; así como en las partes montañosas del país (parques nacionales, volcanes).
  • Precaución para las embarcaciones por mar picado y muy fuerte oleaje en el Pacífico Norte, Golfo de Nicoya, Pacífico Central y el Mar Caribe, así como a la navegación aérea por turbulencia sobre los sectores montañosos.
  • Evitar quemas de todo tipo ya que pueden salirse de control.
