Informative Weather Warning

Rainy conditions in the North Zone and the Caribbean in the coming days

October 31, 2021
4.30 p.m.

Diagnosis: After the entry to the Caribbean Sea of ??the first cold surge - which had little influence on the country -, the Intertropical Convergence Zone will be located over Costa Rica; from where a low-pressure system will be formed in the Caribbean near Panama.

The proximity of this low-pressure system to the country will cause rainier conditions both in the North Zone and in the Caribbean at least until Tuesday. With today's analyzes, this system DOES NOT REPRESENT any threat to Costa Rica.

In addition, the constant ingress of moisture from the maritime sector to the Pacific regions will generate downpours near the mountains in the afternoons, with precipitation concentrating in the Central Pacific and South Pacific regions.

Warning: Special attention to the regions of the North Zone and the Caribbean in view of the possible increase in rainfall in the coming days. Attention in places vulnerable to floods in both the Central Pacific and the South Pacific and the Central Valley.

Due to the above, the IMN recommends:
