Aguaceros en el Caribe Norte y Zona Norte

Diagnóstico: La presencia valores altos de presión atmosférica en el Mar Caribe, genera vientos alisios acelerados para este sábado en nuestro país, lo cual a su vez está provocando arrastre de humedad desde el sector marítimo hacia Limón, Zona Norte y sectores de la GAM. Hasta el momento se tienen registros de acumulados de lluvias entre 20 – 50 mm con máximos de hasta 80 mm (Caribe Sur costero) en las últimas 6 horas.

Las imágenes satelitales muestran que la actividad lluviosa con tormenta se mantiene aún con aguaceros en el Caribe central y va moviéndose hacia las llanuras del Caribe Norte y hacia la Zona Norte.

Pronóstico: La nubosidad y las lluvias se mantendrán en el periodo matutino de este domingo en la Zona Norte y Caribe Norte, con la tendencia a ir disminuyendo paulatinamente en la tarde. Los acumulados se estiman entre los 10 – 60 mm en periodos de 6 horas, montos mayores en sectores puntuales. Además, esta actividad lluviosa podría verse reflejada en menor medida con lloviznas o lluvias ocasionales en el Valle Central y cordilleras de Guanacaste en el transcurso del día.

Por otro lado, son posibles también lluvias y aguaceros aislados con tormenta en el Pacífico Central y Sur esta tarde.

Advertencia: Especial atención por lluvias intermitentes en el Caribe y Zona Norte.

Debido a lo anterior, el IMN recomienda:

  • Precaución por saturación de alcantarillado en lugares propensos a este tipo de inundaciones.
  • Prevención ante tormenta eléctrica y buscar refugio en un sitio seguro en caso de presentarse o de percibir fuertes ráfagas de viento cerca de las nubes de tormenta, debido a la posible caída de ramas de árboles, tendido eléctrico entre otros. estas ráfagas pueden alcanzar 80 km/h en algunos casos aislados.
