Tarde lluviosa en la Vertiente del Pacífico

Diagnóstico: Nuevamente, el día de hoy el debilitamiento del viento alisios ha permitido el ingreso de humedad desde el Océano Pacífico al territorio nacional desde tempranas horas, lo cual ha ocasionado un ambiente muy bochornoso desde la madrugada. Sumado a lo anterior, las cálidas temperaturas registradas a esta hora, favorecen el proceso de evaporación en varios lugares del país, creando condiciones ideales para precipitaciones por la tarde.

Pronóstico: Para esta tarde y primeras horas de la noche se esperan aguaceros con tormenta eléctrica en las regiones del Pacífico Central, el Pacífico Sur y alrededores del Golfo de Nicoya.  Montos estimados entre 20-40mm y máximos de 60mm.

En el Valle Central, se prevén precipitaciones moderadas, concentrándose en los sectores centro y este de la región. Montos estimados entre 10-20mm y máximos de 25-40mm de manera puntual.

 

Por su parte, tanto en las regiones del Caribe como en la Zona Norte, la posibilidad de lluvia se limita a los sectores montañosos, pero estas serían de corta duración. Montos estimados entre 5-15mm.

 

Debido a lo anterior, el IMN recomienda:

 

  • Precaución en zonas con vulnerabilidad a inundaciones por saturación de alcantarillado, especialmente en regiones del Pacífico Sur, Pacífico Central y la GAM.
  • Refugiarse en un sitio seguro en caso de escuchar tormenta eléctrica o percibir fuertes ráfagas de viento cerca de las nubes de tormenta, así como precaución por posible caída de ramas de árboles, tendido eléctrico entre otros.
